shark site on the internet in my opinion. When you get to the site in the lower left column click on Shark Information

sharkdom  for many people   Mostly conservation oriented with a lot of good shark links.   One of the oldest and
 best general interest shark pages on the internet.  

Nat. Marine Fisheries (sharks)    The Apex Predator page of Nat. Marine Fisheries.  
More info on sharks in the Northeast.  This is a must site.  It has info on shark tagging, and the latest shark 
regulations for recreational anglers. 
Also has info on the profiled shark species mentioned in this website. 

Ben S. Roesch's shark page.    Ben has a good book section, and other interesting links.  Ben's site will enlarge
 with future updates.  A good site to visit whatever your interest in sharks. 

Shark Cage Diving in New England    Shark cage diving with Capt. Charlie Donilon aboard the 
"Snappa."  One of the few New England Shark cage diving charters. This is a Rhode Is. based operation

Canadian Shark Research Lab   I wish I could get my website this organized. Since Canada has basically the
same shark species as New England, this is a great site for more information on New England shark species.
My site is written from a fisherman's perspective and this site is from a biologist's perspective.  One of my favorites.

  The Shark Handbook: The Essential Guide for Understanding the Sharks of the World 
                 by Dr. Greg Skomal and Nick Caloyianis (Paperback - July 1, 2008)

 This is an up to date book with plenty of information and good photos.
 A good all around shark book to have in your library.
 
Dr. Greg Skomal is a New Englander and does much of his shark research here.

Sharks in Question  the Smithsonian Answer Book
by Victor Springer and Joy P. Gold
ISBN 0-87474-877-1
A great 1989 book on sharks; 187 pages with pictures,  in paperback.
There are more modern books out now, but this is still a good book to have.
I highly recommend this book.  It is a great source of fundamental information and also has some excellent shark photos.

I like it because it is area specific to the sharks we have in the United States.

This is a fantastic book on the fatal 1916 New Jersey shark attacks, that are reputed to be the inspiration for the movie Jaws.

It has great insight into the attacks, and  the people and attitudes of that time period . 

The book is thoroughly researched.
